State Bank of Patiala Employees Federation donated 36 plastic chairs, 10 upholstered chairs, 35 uniforms and cardigans to the Aruna Bhawan.
They have always been very generous with their donations. A function was held to honour them on 22nd November 2007.
Declamation Contests among college students are held every year. These contests have been organized under the Aruna Asaf Ali Bhavan Puraskar scheme.
We also purpose opening more centers and include Himachal Pardesh in the area of our activities.
From 1997 to 2004 the Trust has collected donation and grants to the tune of 43+ lacs. The running annual expenditure on the work center donor scheme and other expenditure is 1.30 lacs.We also purpose opening more centers and include Himachal Pardesh in the area of our activities.
M.F. Hussian leads the list. Donating rupees 15 lakhs. The entire sale proceeding of his painting done on the spot at Chandigarh. Chief minister of Punjab gave a grant of rupees five lakh. CM Haryana 2 lakh, UT Administration 2 lakh 50 thousand. Dr Kartar Singh Duggal M.P.(Rajya Sabha) 2 lacs. Mrs Balbir Kaur Dhanwant Rs.3.87 lacs. Rest is donated & collected by the Trustees.

Aruna Asaf Ali Memorial Trust Registered:
Aruna Asaf Ali Memorial Trust Registered at Chandigarh in June 1997, a year after the demise of Arunaji. The Trust was established to work for the causes that were dear to her : relief to the poor, empowerment and organization of women, child development, encouragement of cultural movements, promotion of secular ideals, an equitable society and peace within the nation and world wide.
To keep her memory alive, a bhawan has been constructed on a 250 sq. yard plot in Sector 44-A at a cost of 38 Lacs. The Construction was started in Feb '2004 & completed in Jan '2005.

At present the following facilities are provided:
1. Child Labour education Centre.
2. Open School for backward Children.
3. Free dispensary & medical lab for the needy.
4. Counseling centre for family disputes.
5. Craft training & embroidery centre.
6. Beautician training centre.

Since 1999 the Trust has taken up the following activities in a number of slum area in Chandigarh. Haryana & Punjab.

Child Labour Education Centre (DISHA):
Janta Colony Sector-25 Chandigarh has been working since may 1999.Twenty working kids in the age group of 8-12years.majority girls have been given primary education. Each child is paid Rs.100/-p.m/Rs.50/- cash & Rs.50/- is spent on books. Stationary and other requirements. The teacher who is a local educated girl is paid Rs.50/- per child taught. These children are prepared for the 5th Class Board Examination in three years time. The 1st batch of 12 children and second batch of 10 children has already passed this exam. The 3rd batch is preparing to sit for the exams. The parents are being motivated to continue their education further at the nearest Govt. school. The scheme is being implemented on a continuing basis. Out of 22 kids who passed 5th class. 6 have joined elementary school and their education is being financed by the Trust.

A Craft Centre:
For young girls and women is also being run at the same location.

Child Labour Education Centre:
Panchkula with 20 working kids has been running since Aug 1999 in a classroom provided at Doon Public School in Panchkula (Haryana) catering to the children coming from the Azad Labour colony Sector-21 near by Last year 4 girls of DISHA passed the 5th class examination in the 1st Division and one of them stood 1st among the 30 girls of the Govt. Primary School Sector 12-A who took the examination. All the four girls have joined the elementary school & the Trust is financing their education.

Special School At Mohali:
is running in Guru Nanak Labour Colony Phase X. Mohali (Punjab) for coaching children who are drop-outs or have never attended school. Those will pass the 5th class board exams with 60% & above mark be supported at the elementary & secondary levels.
Beside the above the Trust runs a Donor Scheme under which donations are raised to fund scholarships for deserving students who cannot pursue their studies further due to paucity of funds. following amount as scholarships are made.

  • Rs.100/-p.m for primary class.
  • Rs.150/-p.m. for Middle & High School level.
  • Rs.200/-p.m. for +2 class.
  • Rs.250 to Rs.400 for professional & technical courses.
